The nearest shops are at Bazouges La Perouse 3km away, a village with interesting medieval architecture, a supermarket, Post Office, superb bakery/patisserie, pizzeria, restaurants, and a lively street market on Thursdays.
Combourg has a large farmer's market on a Monday and Dol de Bretagne on a Saturday.
Tennis Courts are in Bazouges, Pony Trekking and golf are also available locally
For children, there is a lake in the Foret de Ville Cartier with pedal boats for hire, Acrobranches or GO-APE and picnic tables, cafe-bar on its shores.
The nearest swimming pools are at Tremblay and Combourg.

Le Mont St Michel, 30 km due north, the spectacular Abbey is built literally just off the coast.

At Cancale, 45km, there is a large sandy beach and a seaside town atmosphere.
Plenty of restaurants selling Mussels and Oysters.

At Fougeres, 30km, there is an imposing Medieval Castle, an old Quarter and pretty boutiques.
At Dinan, 50km, the River Rance passes through this old port where there are a variety of craftshops, cobbled streets, old fortifications and a plethora of restaurants.

At Rennes, 40km, a cosmopolitan University City with Classical French Squares, the Breton Parliament Building, excellent shopping, multicultural- restaurants, and lively bars (including Irish!)

At St Malo, 50km, the nearest ferry port, Bastille Day there is a spectacular firework display over the Fort walls. Beaches with walled swimming pool and lovely island views. As well as a Plethora of restaurants just inside the old walls.


Brittany Ferries operate Portsmouth to St Malo 8.5 hours
Condor Ferries operate direct from Poole and Weymouth 5 hours.
